Job Summary

Supports Savers vision by assisting drivers to properly unload donations onto carts in the warehouse, separating soft and hard goods, large items and furniture, weighing carts, organizing full carts in warehouse, accurately completing route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks, loading trailers according to specific Savers guidelines, continuously recording product weights and type while loading trailers, assist with daily counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores.

Roles and Duties:

  • Undertakes loading and unloading of trucks/trailers according to management directives
  • Arranges boxes, packages, and bags on trolleys to validate their weights
  • Assemble sizable items in the assigned space
  • Arrange the furnishings in the allocated area
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that aisles and walkways are clear of any obstacles.
  • Employ a calculator with precision to subtract or add tare weights from filled carts of items and establish the net weights accurately
  • Log the cart identifiers, weights, and unload durations on the forms that detail the driver's route
  • Make sure to furnish the Savers Delivery Reports with the complete set of required information
  • Ensure a systematic daily count and recording of all inventory present in the warehouse and trailers
  • Inspects forklifts to confirm they meet the safety and operational criteria established by Savers and the state regulations.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed, such as overseeing the cleanliness of office and restroom facilities

Qualifications:

  • Awareness of OSHA, state, and Savers safety stipulations and criteria is fundamental for upholding safety measures
  • Demonstrated organization skills
  • Aptitude for controlling a forklift
  • Capacity to communicate coherently through spoken and written mediums
  • Capability to coordinate numerous incoming and outgoing truck loads simultaneously
  • Proficient in preparing receiving reports and shipment schedules
  • Aptitude in understanding and interpreting instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or calendar form
  • Proficient in prioritizing assignments, meeting timelines with adaptability, and multitasking with independence
  • Talent for being observant and precise in examination.
  • Can occasionally manage loads of up to 70 lbs
  • The knack for utilizing a pallet jack by either pulling it behind or pushing it ahead
  • Aptitude for shifting or pushing loaded carts onto the scale to determine weight
  • Skill in adapting to the diverse temperature conditions present in warehouse environments
  • Consistent standing, walking, bending, and lifting are needed to perform daily tasks seamlessly

Education and Experience:

  • The acquisition of a high school diploma or a similar credential is essential for various career opportunities
  • Candidates with a background in docks or warehouses are at an advantage
  • Forklift training certification
