Job Summary

To support Savers' vision, it is vital to assist drivers in unloading donations onto carts in the warehouse correctly, segregating between soft and hard goods, large items, and furniture, weighing carts precisely, arranging filled carts in an orderly manner within the warehouse, filling out route paperwork accurately including weight details and truck inspections, loading trailers based on specific Savers guidelines, consistently recording product weights and categories while loading trailers, aiding in the routine inventory counting and entry of Stock on Hand. Moreover, participating in the loading and unloading of trucks for store transfers contributes significantly to the fulfillment of Savers' mission.

Roles and Duties:

• Follows management directives when loading and unloading trucks/trailers
• Loads boxes and sacks onto carts to ensure they meet weight specifications
• Place large items in the designated zone for storage
• Place the furnishings accordingly in the assigned area
• Tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that aisles and walkways are tidy and debris-free.
• Use a calculator correctly to subtract or add tare weights from loaded carts of products to establish the net weights with precision
• Document the cart numbers, weights, and unload durations on the driver's delivery route forms
• Ensure that the Savers Delivery Reports are completed with all the required data
• Monitor and record the daily inventory levels of both the warehouse and trailers using appropriate recording methods
• Checks forklifts to ensure that they align with both Savers' policies and the legal requirements of the state in terms of safety and working conditions.
• Execute any other assigned duties, which may involve cleaning and organizing the office and restroom facilities

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in OSHA, state, and Savers safety protocols and criteria is necessary for ensuring a safe work environment
• Demonstrated organization skills
• Competence in using a forklift
• Competency in oral and written interaction
• Capacity to juggle various incoming and outgoing truck loads simultaneously
• Capability to produce inbound/outbound tracking logs and freight manifests
• Capability to decipher instructions given in written, spoken, pictorial, or sequential forms
• Proficiency in determining priorities, meeting deadlines with versatility, and juggling multiple tasks with limited supervision
• Aptitude for being meticulous and thorough.
• Able to occasionally handle loads of up to 70 lbs in weight
• The capability to navigate a pallet jack by either pulling it towards oneself or pushing it away
• Capacity to transport or transfer loaded carts onto the weighing device to ascertain mass
• Capacity to function effectively within the temperature extremes of a warehouse environment
• The ability to consistently stand, walk, bend, and lift is crucial for the completion of routine activities

Education and Experience:

• Obtaining a high school diploma or an equal certification is fundamental for personal and professional growth
• Candidates with experience in docks or warehouses are preferred
• Forklift training certification
• Adhering to proper protocols and techniques during lifting tasks is crucial to avoiding accidents and injuries
