Job Summary
The Point of Sale (POS) Fuel DevOps Engineer automates software builds, test and deployment systems, and infrastructure as code. This role manages development, test, and staging environments in cloud platforms while deploying and managing software in production. Responsibilities include advancing technology in an agile environment, leveraging automation, and delivering efficient solutions that meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify, create, and apply software development and security standards.
- Plan, design, and document software components.
- Collaborate with Operations, Development, and QA to ensure scalability and maintenance.
- Configure and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security.
- Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy integrated or standalone releases across multiple applications.
- Use industry-standard tools to enhance product and service delivery.
- Provide fast issue resolution and proactively identify and solve build-related problems.
- Generate code quality metrics through automated pipelines.
- Train teams and facilitate cross-team collaboration for common goals.
- Coordinate resources for technology functions and environment monitoring.
- Automate development and test environment setup, deployment, and support.
- Establish automated workflows for CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with product and application teams to define version control branching strategies.
- Support compliance efforts to meet security policies and IT standards.
- Provide 24x7x365 on-call support.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years of IT experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Cloud experience with Azure or Google Cloud.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve production issues.
- Understanding of application architecture, security, and network technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience deploying enterprise cloud technologies.
- 5 years of experience with enterprise infrastructure and software systems.
- Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Understanding of industry standards in the Point of Sale environment.
- Experience in the retail industry.
- Experience with QA, usability testing, and automated testing.
- Experience with SaaS configuration in Azure/Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of REST API integration, Sysinternal tools, and version control using Git.
- Familiarity with Splunk/Dynatrace for log analysis.
- Experience with payment and digital wallet integration.
